Fire Station 34

After years of a quiet area in the city of Woodstock, a new fire station has been on the rise and is being built and will be Woodstock Fire Station 34. The new fire station is now being built, and this will make public safety in the city at an all-time high. As there are now approximately 41 thousand people living in Woodstock, as this will now make everyone feel even more safe.

This is not just about making a new fire station, because the city can make as many as they want. This is about precious seconds being shaved off by making another fire station closer to residents where if there is a fire, they are closer to the house or business to take care of the situation.

Stacy Brown, the Marketing and Communications Manager at the city of Woodstock, says this is about getting the fire station closer to the neighborhoods of the city. “This expansion strengthens emergency coverage across Woodstock while keeping our operational model sustainable. My office has worked with news outlets including the Cherokee Tribune, WSB-TV and WSB Radio, 11Alive, FOX 5, and Atlanta News First to share information on the benefits of this infrastructure investment throughout the Metro Atlanta region. We are also publishing news and updates to our website and social media channels.

The new fire station will consist of brand new, modern technology equipment for faster response times and efficiency. It will also have beds/ living quarters, and training rooms and classrooms for the fire fighters that will eventually call fire station 34 a new home for themselves. Fire Station 34 is not the only one currently built. There is one being built not that far away in Woodstock, Station 28, where these two fire stations are currently saving city taxpayers thousands of dollars in taxes in construction. Around $600,000.

Many citizens of the city of Woodstock are wondering that Fire Station 34 is being built on Long Drive, Woodstock, that there is going to be a need for new traffic signals and signs to make sure that the fire trucks and the emergency vehicles get out fast when in need for an emergency.

Jermey Parker, Director of Public Works at City of Woodstock, Georgia, has this to say about the new traffic pattern that will happen when the fire station is fully operational. “The city uses a preemption system that prioritizes fire vehicles at signalized intersections. No significant roadway improvements are required on Long Drive.”

With fire station 34 and station 28 being built at the same time and is projected to be fully operational and open at around the same time, there will need to be mass hirings going on to get enough people to become an emergency representative.

Jeff Moon, the City Manager at the city of Woodstock spoke about what the city plans to do in how they plan to hire enough firefighters by the end of 2026. “Through careful planning and an innovative shift structure, we’re able to staff both new fire stations efficiently. This expansion strengthens emergency coverage across Woodstock while keeping our operational model sustainable.

Soon enough, the city of Woodstock and the street of Long Drive, will continue to feel the support and will feel even more safe with the new fire stations being right around the corner.
